Two months after dying, seventeen-year-old witch Graylee Perez wakes up in her twin sister Charlene’s body.
Until Gray finds a way back inside her own body, she’s stuck being Charlene every twenty-hour hours. Her sister has left precise instructions on how Gray should dress and behave. Looking like a prep isn’t half as bad as hanging out with Charlene’s snotty friends and gropey boyfriend.
The “normals” of McKinley High might be quick to write her behavior off as post-traumatic stress, but warlock Raj McKenna is the only person who suspects Gray has returned from the dead.
Now Gray has to solve the mystery of her death and resurrection and disentangle herself from Charlene’s body before she disappears for good.
***Entangled is a young adult paranormal fantasy romance suitable for ages 15 and up.***

This is part of my Random Reads where I read and review free Amazon downloads. Let me just start out by saying that I love the cover, but I’m not really sure why she looks like an ice princess. Is it because of her cold, dead body? I don’t really know.

The story was told in the third person point of view so it was easy to follow what happened with all the characters. What I found weird was that sometimes, the narrator would start talking to the characters. It’s like the characters are the ones who are supposed to be thinking something, but it comes out that the narrator is thinking it when the narrator should just be telling the story.

Graylee is the victim of a resurrection spell gone wrong. Instead of coming back to life in her own body, she takes over her twin sister’s body. And that’s not the worst of it, they have to share the body and are only present every other day. And since it’s still Charlene’s body, Charlene is very specific on how Graylee must take care of it even if she hates her sister’s instructions. She also has catching up to do with her two months disappearance and Charlene’s life. I think that living as someone else would definitely be a weird experience, but I guess if you have no choice then you have to cope. I think it’s more interesting that these witches have to go to a normal high school, and Graylee’s resurrection is against the witch coven rules.

The story basically revolves around Graylee, despite following other characters too. I didn’t really love her character that much because she allows things to get to her head and she can be irrational. And of course I hate her sister, Charlene. She is the very definition of a mean girl and a witch. She is pure evil. And then there’s Raj – the bad-boy-type warlock. He was quite mean, but he somehow turned me around and won me over. I’m not really sure how, but I kind of like him.

Oh, and I just totally spoiled myself by reading the chapter extra for book 2, and now I want to read it.

OVERALL, this was interesting and amusing. I didn’t really fall in love with any of the characters, but I still wanted to know what would happen to Graylee so I easily finished the whole book. And I plan to read the next one when I can. I also support Raj in getting Graylee. I think that the whole concept of Graylee’s resurrection and the witch abilities were well-written, and the characters were quite entertaining. All in all, I liked this book enough.

Uk72Wx0After finishing this book (Entangled), I haven’t really finished another. I spent a lot of time sleeping~ And I also watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (animated version), which was very emotional and it got me hung over. But I have started two books and plan to finish them, plus one more book. So I guess I plan to only get through 4 ebooks for this readathon because I have 16 more ARCs that I want to finish for ARC August. So I’m currently reading:

  1. I was going to ask about Deer in Headlights, but then I see it is still free! yay! I want to read Entangled now from this read-a-thon, but wouldn’t manage to finish it in time for the challenge anyways. Boo on me!
