Epic Recs: May 2014

It’s a new month so here’s another round of Epic Recs month with Sandra @ Sandra’s World of Books.

If you want to know more about Epic Recs, just click on the banner up there(it’s linked to the December post though so you might want to search for the most recent one). The basic gist is that we push each other to read a book this month. But basically, we’re just enabling each other’s book-buying addiction. Haha!

My Summer Love #ReadCampBoyfriend Mini-Challenge

Camp Boyfriend

break-1

Would you believe I was the one who came up with the challenge even though I didn’t even know if I had a story to tell? The read-a-long’s mini-challenge is simply to share any camp story or summer story. I had no idea what I would write about until I read Author Joanne Rock’s Guest Post and it sparked a distant memory. I totally recommend that people read that. It’s very short and wonderful.

I tell this story out of pure nostalgia. Maybe it was infatuation or maybe it was my first love. But the past is the past.

I read 5 books. Yay. Although I totally failed at blogging and didn’t write for days. 😛

Tackling the Shelves

#TacklingTheShelves and #ARCApril

I was supposed to hold an event, but then a couple of bloggers I follow already up some so I’ll just join theirs! 😀

Tackling the Shelves

Click on the banner to find out more about the read-a-thon! I’m not really sure how active I could be for this one, but I’m joining anyway to support my good friend, Sandra. 😀

arc-april

Click on the button to find out more. I’ve been waiting for this event, because I seriously need this. I have so many review copies I need to tackle.

Anyway, for both events, these are the books I plan to read and review:

This is actually the notes on my tablet. All the review copies are there already so it was just easier to take a picture. XD Do you see my really big problem? I have that much to read and review. I separated the Contemporary from the Paranormal/SciFi/etc. because contemp are my happy reads (usually anyway). I already read The Geography of You and Me (hence the line), but I have yet to write the review so it’s there. 😛

That’s all for now.

#LoveAThon Mini Challenge 5: Letter to Yourself

Book_Blogger_Love-A-Thon_2014

Click on the banner to find out more about this event!

There are two ways to do this challenge. 1) Write a letter to your younger blogging/writing self: What would you change? What would you keep the same? What are your favorite parts? In what ways has blogging/writing changed you? What advice would you give yourself? Or 2) Write a letter to your future blogging/writing self: What goals do you want to set? What do you want to accomplish with your blog/writing? What do you want to start doing and what do you want to stop doing?

#LoveAThon Mini Challenge 4: Mash-Up

Book_Blogger_Love-A-Thon_2014

Click on the banner to find out more about this event!

For this challenge we are asked to mash-up our bookish life with a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent we have in real life.

This challenge made me regret not starting earlier. XD When I read this, I knew I had to sketch a book character’s clothing. I had to look up descriptions in a book. Of course start drawing and rendering and whatnot. I only used my phone camera for the picture though. I hope the quality’s not that bad.
